Sleep In Comfort
Each new resident at Lamb Foundation receives a bed with new twin comforter, sheets, shams and bed skirt when he or she moves in. Each room is color-coordinated and cheerfully decorated. Homes have single and double bedrooms.

Behind The Ears
Ten ($10) dollars can provide a set of bath linens for a new Lamb Foundation resident. 2 Wash Cloths and 2 large bath towels are provided to each new resident entering Lamb Foundation. These bath linens are color-coordinated and recognizable as to owner in the household laundry.

Making a Nest
A new Lamb resident does not arrive at his or her new home with furniture. All furniture is provided and rooms are uniquely themed and appointed. Twin mattresses and box springs are a huge need on an ongoing basis. Heavy duty metal bed frames for twin and single beds are just as needed.

Lamb Stew
Heavy duty pots, pans and cooking utensils are needed to make home cooked meals and to provide cooking and baking activities for the residents. The more independent residents in smaller homes enjoy cooking for themselves. No pot is too big or too small at Lamb Foundation.

Great Outdoors
Many residents enjoy relaxing outdoors. A picnic table capable of seating 8 is the perfect size, and with a weight capacity of 350 lbs. per seat. The table pictured provides safety and wheel chair accessibility.

Relaxing Entertainment
The Lamb Foundation Ewes Mews Clubhouse is a designated area for residents to relax with friends and to engage in structured activities and events. To make their time more enjoyable we hope to equip the clubhouse with a 54" Flat Screen Television.

Relief On The Way
Most Lamb Foundation homes are historic in age, design and character. Central Air Conditioning was not available when these venerable beauties were built. Window air conditioners give much needed relief on the hottest days of the year.

Every Bedroom needs Dressers, Tables, Mirrors, Bed Frames and Lamps. Donated furniture in matching sets is so appreciated and gives each home a coziness that some residents have never experienced before.

Going Green
Lamb is committed to Going Green and saving energy costs in the process. From Recycling to Composting to Weatherproofing our homes, we want to do our part with conservation and stewardship. Energy efficient light bulbs can make a significant difference.

Safety First
Lamb Foundation maintains a "No Smoking" policy inside all of its homes and buildings including garages and storage areas. Smoke detectors are in every bedroom and throughout every home.

Not Included!
Batteries are one of those annoyances of life. 7:00 am on Christmas morning ~ oops. Batteries are always needed for our smoke detectors and household clocks, TV remotes and various electronics and games.

Keep It Together
Trash for 230 residents adds up to over 14,000 bags of trash in one year. Yard size trash bags are best for the home units, and Lawn and Leaf bags are perfect for maintenance and general housekeeping.

Put Out a Puff
Home and fire extinguisher inspections are required annual events. There are over 200 fire extinguishers throughout Lamb Foundation homes. Fire Drills in various houses are conducted quarterly.

Where Does It Go
When it's time for shopping, how many of us wonder where all the food went from the previous week? Imagine consuming over 6,000 pounds of food a week. Approximately $980 provides food for a home unit of (8) residents for 1 month.

Keep Us Moving
Lamb Foundation maintains a fleet of four vans, one minivan, one utility truck and one 30' box truck that are used every day for resident transportation to day programs and medical appointments along with housekeeping, maintenance and donation pick-up vehicles operating seven days a week.

Travel Excursions
Each year over 100 Lamb Foundation residents sign up for our infamous vacation and getaway packages. Lamb Foundation sponsors 4 one-week sessions in June, July, August and September. $400 a week per person includes destination tickets, motorcoach, all meals, supervision, private chaperone if necessary, and medication management. Our 2010 itinerary is on our website. The 2011 itinerary will be posted for signup by May 15.

The Uncontrollable
As fuel prices continue to rise, there's little we can do about it except to bid our fuel accounts and budget our heating oil payments throughout the year. We're always looking for ways to save on heating costs, and at the same time to stay warm. All homes with residents 65 and older are required to maintain a temperature of at least 70 Degrees.

Mi Casa, Tu Casa
Do you have a favorite home, or is there a particular Lamb Foundation home unit that you would like to personally sponsor and be willing to help provide for its needs? We will display the name of a home sponsor (individual or company) on the front of the home for a year. Your volunteerism and relationship with the residents of the home are welcomed as well.

Daily Essentials
Lamb Foundation always needs to replenish its first aid and medicine cabinets with daily essentials such as One-a-Day vitamins for men and women, Tylenol, aspirin, Bactine and Neosporin. These supplies are needed to maintain good health and for first aid care.

Things Unseen
All too often homeless applicants to Lamb Foundation are without even the basics, such as underclothing. Lamb Foundation discreetly provides men and women with needed underclothes and socks with dignity and confidentially.

It's Required
Unfortunately, with market fluctuations in health insurance, necessities such as adult diapers, men's guards, hygiene napkins and bed pads are not always covered by insurance. Many of these items are as expensive as underclothing.
